About the Show
Inn Between is an adventure between adventures, wherein our five heroes (who may or may not be player characters in a fictional Dungeons & Dragons campaign) relax, regroup, and shoot the breeze in the conveniently located Goblin’s Head Inn.
The show intentionally leaves details of the adventurers’ escapades to the imagination, with the only information provided to the listener in the form of “Previously On” and “Next Time On” segments at the beginning and end of each episode. This unique format allows for the character development and team building that isn’t facilitated by the mechanics of most Actual Play podcasts (and even D&D campaigns themselves).
Ultimately, Inn Between is a show about friendship, character development, and empathy, within a setting of monsters, magic, and adventure.

By the Numbers
Inn Between published “Episode 1: The Goblin’s Head” on June 6th, 2018. We are rapidly approaching 25 thousand total downloads! Each episode typically reaches four hundred downloads on its release day. We’re small, but growing!
We have a five-star rating on Apple Podcasts and small but dedicated following on Twitter, where we host #AskTheInnkeeper every Saturday. #AskTheInnkeeper is a Q&A time with Tessa, the character who runs the nominal Inn of the show.
We were honored to be featured in The Bello Collective’s article “Indie Fiction Podcasts You Should Be Listening to in 2019” by Elena Fernández-Collins and and Syfy Wire’s article “Twelve High Fantasy Podcasts that Will Take You on an Adventure During Your Commute” by Kristina Manente. We also participated in How To Listen to Music in the 22nd Century’s “A Package Arrives” crossover special, and we’ve received some very kind shout-outs on the podcasts Arden and The Beacon.
Some of our favorite reviews:
“This show plays with the structure of episodic media in a way that I’ve wanted to see for a long time, and it does it really well! I’m already charmed by the characters after only a few episodes, very good work all around.” –nonbinosaur, Apple Podcasts
“…Creative storytelling and a fresh take on the ‘fantasy adventurer’ tropes w/ just enough meta commentary” – Michelle Nickolaisen, @_chelleshock on Twitter, creator of Unplaced
“This narrative design is ingeniously executed, and the meta-commentary is simply hilarious and never overplayed.” —Elena Fernández-Collins, audio fiction writer, creator of the Audio Dramatic newsletter
“If you’ve ever wondered what adventurers do in between fulfilling quests and going in search of legendary treasure, you’ll love this quirky audio drama about what happens at The Goblin’s Head Inn.”
–Kristina Manente, writer for Syfy Wire and audio engineer.

This show is a labor of love and supported by our listeners through our Patreon.
Inn Between is family-friendly—we don’t even swear—and designed to be enjoyable for listeners of all ages. There are mentions of alcohol, which aren’t out of place in the tavern setting of the show, and a few instances of foolish behavior and existentially scary issues, but for the most part Inn Between contains content much less questionable than the average Grimm fairy tale.
This show and its team are dedicated to accessibility. All episodes have transcripts available on our website along with the episode player. We are always looking for ways to improve our show’s availability to audiences of all abilities.
